These hand gestures are reflective of a society where a woman president has never existed. There are laser cut pieces making the absence reverberate through shadow on the wall. Our present and past carry this absence and these hands show the fight for the future. These hand gestures were taken from photos during the Women’s March in DC in January of 2017.

The work in this series often involves creating the imagery in Illustrator and warping the design in Photoshop. I then create a cut file to laser cut on a variety of materials like wood, acrylic and hardboard.

Make the invisible, visible.
